Today, when I write this post, my ENERGY is on a low level. Do you know why?
This month, I spent a lot of time creating content and building my presence in the digital world while having a full-time job and working out 6/7 days per week. My energy level is almost empty.
But this is not permanent. If I rest, my energy comes back to normal really quickly. If I rest one weekend, I will be on top of energy again, and soon, I will have a vacation week to help me recover for eleven more months in 2024. The problem is when we never rest and are always finding ways to be productive and spend our energy.
And this is the subject for today.
How do you manage your energy level?
This was something that I thought about many times this week. We often manage our time, but how about our energy?
One example that I can give you about managing energy is the work I am doing here: As I am in a low-energy week, I will not try hard and write a long newsletter. Also, Instead of just not sending this content to you this week, I decided to create short content that could give you some value and keep our growth consistent.
This way helps me to save my energy and maintain consistency, which is important for long-term goals. How can you apply this example to your life? If you have a week that you feel tired, try to ask yourself: what is the minimal piece of work that I could do instead of burning myself out for doing too much and at the same time keeping my consistency? This is what I asked myself before writing another post this week.
Other ways that I use to save energy are:
Thinking twice before entering a discussion: It is always helpful to think: Is it worth starting a discussion with this person? Will this discussion change the other person's opinion? Most of the time, discussions do not change it.
Stopping to worry and letting it be: When we worry too much about something, we spend energy. Worrying about something in the future makes us spend energy and also have anxiety. It is easy to write but hard to practice, but I always try hard to live in the present moment.
Saying NO: Remember: when you say NO, you say NO for one thing. When you say YES, you are saying NO for many things. What does it really mean? It means that when you say YES to 1 thing, you are also saying NO to other things because you will not have the focus and energy to do the other things. So, choose smartly what you say YES because your energy is limited.
And as a final message to you: If you are tired, take a rest. It is normal nowadays to be tired, it just means you need to rest and MAYBE reconsider where you are spending your energy. We need to manage our time, but mainly OUR ENERGY.
